Defamation - Also called calumny, vilification, slander (For transitory statements.), and libel (For written, broadcast, or otherwise published words.) - is the communication of a statement that makes a claim, expressly stated or implied to be factual, that may give an individual, business, product, group, government, or nation a negative image. It is usually, but not always, a requirement that this claim be false and that the publication is communicated to someone other than the person defamed (The claimant).

In common law jurisdictions, slander refers to a malicious, false and defamatory spoken statement or report, while libel refers to any other form of communication such as written words or images. Most jurisdictions allow legal actions, civil and/or criminal, to deter various kinds of defamation and retaliate against groundless criticism. Related to defamation is public disclosure of private facts, which arises where one person reveals information that is not of public concern, and the release of which would offend a reasonable person. Unlike with libel, truth is not a defense for invasion of privacy.

Now, I don't wish to make another drama out of anything, so I'm simply going to encourage people to delete these posts, and to stop slandering eachother in public. It really serves no purpose, and one person on this site has already admitted to have breached someone's privacy.

Squash the beef people.

I'm only talking about the technicalities here. People can keep cussing at eachother in private if they want to, but Admin should remove these sort of threads immediately, or take on someone else to do it for him, and simply not allow this type of slander and intimidation anymore.

You should read the part about public concern again. People's private lives and affairs are not of public concern. Big entities and governments are.

And if it's in Off Topic, it's often removed at the end of the month anyway. If it really bothers anyone there's always the report option. Just quote Rules 2 and 8.

I can quote another rule. One of the rules says you do not allow personal attacks on members. I don't have to report that. You should remove such bile immediately, especially when some people seem to take it too far.

Exactly, because they are responsible for safety. Revealing such information can't be compared to slander or defamation.

Sure. You know I don't care about swear words! I'm only talking about serious harassment, the breaching of people's privacy, slander and intimidation, which shouldn't be allowed on a public forum.
