Sorry, but in what way are either of these posts individually not worthy of an instant ban? Does repeated racist abuse not result in a straight ban anymore? Especially given that it is coming yet again from a repeat offender.

I'm disgusted by the way that posters are allowed to get away with racist abuse on these forums and I'm sure that I'm not the only one. If I'd known that this site allows racist abuse, I'd never have donated even a single grosze to it.

I think Admin is against a flat-out ban. But I think I paid the offender back decently.

A permanent ban is more appropriate.

I know a couple of interesting and intelligent people who regularly read this forum, have plenty to say, but won't post because of the racist stuff, the nutty nationalistic posts about former Yugoslavia and the American neo-con rants, none of which relate to Poland.

But especially the racist posts.

Interestingly, one of the messages in which I quoted the racist was moved to Random Chat and the instruction "Please don't re-post any posts that were originally in random chat. They were moved there for a reason,thanks." was left (link). Does this mean that racist abuse is acceptable when posted in Random Chat? If it isn't, why weren't the messages just given a straight delete? Were they left so as to enable other moderators to see them and thus know the reason why the poster has been suspended?

One thing to note: I am generally very happy with the way that these forums are moderated and am grateful for the mods for doing a job which is basically thankless.

I suspect moderating this forum isn't an exact science. Free speech is to be cherished, but there should maybe be a three-strikes-and-you're-out rule for people like Sokrates, BritishEmpire, DariuszTelka, Jarnowa etc

And this is it. A most doubtful policy of "free speech" of the Administrator of the Polish Forum puts off some people while attracting others. The problem is that the right to free speech is something different than the right to insult other people. In my view, both rights have been assigned the same importance and the same validity here.

for the most part, the free speech policy upheld here is as it is understood in america, not in PL.

Sokrates hates anybody, but most of all, he hates himself. Nothing you can do about that and I wouldn't worry too much about it.
