Look at the bottom left-hand corner of your screen. Do you find this new "improvement" (the pointless red text) really annoying? Well, I do. For a start, it adds absolutely nothing to the functionality of the forum, and second, it gets in the way of the text on the thread you are trying to read:

.

Maybe it's just me, but these kind of pointless changes really pi** me off!

Google's messed about with the appearance of gmail today as well, so that's two changes I can really do without, lol :)

Woah, you have a lot of proggies running on your taskbar. Way too many. I bet your comp is running slower than usual or takes some time to start up?

I would remove most of them from your taskbar if you don't absolutely need them as they take up heaps of memory and cause the computer to be a slow starter. All those proggies need to be started as well.

If you don't know how to remove them, just ask :)

I saw that and thought something was wrong with my PC. Like anything, you get used to it though. PF does however seem a bit slower to load.

LOL you cheeky ****er, my computer runs perfectly and it's nearly 5 years old, and it boots up in less than 10 seconds. That's the power of Un*x, you see :p

;)

Are everyone using firefox these days? ;D

Anyone who knows what they are doing, yes ;)

Unfortunately on PF, you have no choice but to "get used to it". Remember the uproar when they moved everything to the wrong side?

I wish they would take a quarter of that energy from thinking up always new methods to torture the PFers to give us our Avatars back!

lol no we're not, we just like things to work properly. I was taught many years ago that web designers/admins shouldn't do things which pi** their users off. Sadly, that rule doesn't apply here.

It's getting worse, isn't it. It's not even browser-dependent either, because i've just tried it in Opera as well.

I've just noticed that if you run your mouse over it, it disappears. Which suggests that they are using some sort of pop-under code to do this. That's really sneaky!

Yes. And if they have all this time and energy to move posts into the bin, or pi** about with useless code like this, then they clearly have enough time to ban trolls and troublemakers!

and it was forgotten many years ago. They have to have a reason to exist so they fiddle with code. Thank heavens they cannot amend Usenet :)

This is obviously a way of putting two-fingers up at us mere mortal "ordinary users". It allows us to feel like a mod for 1/2 a second, then when we move our mouse away, we return to being the forum's lumpenproletariat again, haha :)
