How far back can you trace your ancestry?

Any famous people there? Any interesting stories? Know any historically famous Poles?

Nope. My Great Grandparents were gypsies that emigrated to the UK from Eastern Europe somewhere but I haven't the foggiest how to find out more.

The story says the family line started in some remote times, with the first actual record from 975 AD, but I was unable to trace actual bloodlines and assign names to them to any period before the 15th century. Some of the members of this line were Count Stanisław Antoni Poniatowski and Tadeusz Boy-Żeleński.

My earliest Polish lines go back to the late 1700's. These ancestors lived near Tarnow.

All I was able to find out was that my great-grand father died during a mass execution in WW2.

My family goes back to the late 1600's. Supposedly the family is connected to Piotr Konaszewicz-Sahajdaczny, the famous hetman.
