Father Rydzyk: Any comments?

This is a story I first heard about on Radio Netherlands...here is a brief summary from an

What kind of a source is that if they cannot even spell the last name correctly...

Maybe I made a mispelling: Is it Rydzky or Rydsky or something different?...I first
heard the story on Radio Netherlands 23:00UTC on 7/20/2007...they didn't spell his name and, even though I am Polish-American, I still get Polish spelling wrong sometimes...please correct if needed...also, is this the priest who supposedly owns
'Radio Maryja'?

Yeah, Rydzyk should be arrested, then send to africa or somewhere to help poor children, his radio/tv/gazette/school should be closed. Ok, now let's back to reality... nothing mentioned above will never happen - this guy is so powerful that he can do anything he likes. It's a big shame to Poland, but what can we do?

What is the reason why Nicolas Negroponte USD 100 laptop is without any reason criticized by computer magazines.
Why low-cost isn't the preoccupation of Human Rights bodies despite the possibility to gain more sympathy in developping countries.
And despite the fact many americans are interested in cottage and car low-cost and seem to buy Negroponte laptop to their children?

One of the original Levittowns (actually started in suburban NYC) is located outside my
home city of Philadelphia PA...I had a couple cousins who had houses there, and some
friends,too...actually it is still there...I found it to be quite pleasant, the American Dream
for moderate income families, with quite a variety of housing styles, and even some
green areas & parks scattered throughout...however, when you talk about $7000 US,
you are talking about 50 years ago...even a modest house in the US goes for AT LEAST
$150000 minimum in relatively cheap suburban areas...these Levittowns were built for
returning WWII GI's who would get special loans & mortgages...this no longer exists...
as far as cars, I sell Auto Insurance during the day, and the price of cars & insurance is
'thru the roof'...Yes, I have heard about the Tata, but this is priced for the Indian market...Basically, the resourses exist to provide affordable housing & good transport
for everyone, but the elites who rule, at this point, seem to be in a phase of 'terminal
greed' and are restricting technologies from becoming available on a large scale...it makes no sense, but then I am not a person driven by greed.

Hm, and what about if Father Rydzyk hasn't been proven to be in conflict wth the law simply because he has never done anything unlawful?

But as to USD 7000 is that was too much 60 years ago? What was the average family income in 40-50?

So you could test these cottages. How they are in winter? They are wooden and no sandwich panells. Aren't they cold? What low frosty temoerature seems to be irresistable for people?

I read that although Tata and Renault Nissan are making a car under USD 3000 for poor countries many Americans decided that car is for them. Many people in the USA seem to be out of snobery. They want a car as transport only and don't require any expensive variant. I suspect low-cost and downshifting is queite popular among millions of Americans.
As in general do you consider Low cost car house and laptop-internet possible Movement can grow in the world in a considerable scale as for example Antiglobalist one?

May I respond about Father Rydzyk: I really didn't know anything about him until I heard
a broadcast on Radio Netherlands accusing him of being 'controversial' & 'anti-semitic'...
then I ran across another article on a website giving a different side of the story...so I
just posted the article hoping some of the Polish people on this site could give me their
prospective...then I did some research...it seems that Father Rydzyk's main 'crime' was citing a 'demand' by a certain Rabbi Singer of the American Jewish Congress for Poland to pay Israel $60 BILLION in 'reparations' for 'crimes of the Polish people in WWII'...well, most Poles w/any knowledge of history know about the Zionist/Israeli shakedown racket to extort money from various countries for the 'holocaust'...Germany is the best example...Israel was founded by the leadership of Jewish organized crime gangs from Russia, Poland, Latvia etc...and this Rabbi Singer had charges against him for 'extortion-like' activities filed against him in NY state by Elliot Spitzer, who is now Governor, but was Attorney General...so apparently Father Rydzyk was in speaking the truth about this shakedown attempt...now, the Catholic Church, under Ratzinger, is also giving Rydzyk a hard time, for 'fear of the Jews'...
I just wanted some Polish opinion on this issue...it seems that many young Poles dont
like his Radio Mayja because it is very conservative/Catholic in tone...this is understandable as the Roman Catholic Church has shown a disinclination to change a
little with the times...but it seems to me that this is a free speech issue & Father Rydzyk
has just expressed an opinion.

To make it clear... I don't know single person between 15 - 25 yrs old who supports Rydzyk or listen to his radio. I think that most of his supporters are not well educated, older people, mostly 50+ years old.

Well, as you said, this is what I understood to be the situation w/Radio Maryja...very
conservative & Catholic...I was brought up in the Roamn Catholic Church, but turned away from it at about age 12, because of some 'funny business' with a parrish priest...
so most young people are looking for something different & more open...but just remem-
ber, the Christian faith isn't neccesarily the same as the Church of Rome...and also, don't be too hard on older people, whatever their education, because they have experience in living that may be helpful to you...of course, some are just jackasses, but
this is true of any age group.........and to Truhlie: this Tata car won't be mass-marketed
in the US because it is too cheap. & the big car manufacturers are really hurting for money...there is no profit in it for them.

I'm not... I understand that they were growing up during hard times and education was far from what we have today. The truth is that if people aren't educated it's easier to manipulate them and that's why Rydzyk has so many supporters. In my opinion he is just a good businessman, nothing more. For me EOT.

It is a well-known fact that from each BMW car manufacturer receives some USC 3400 as profits. For each Renault Logan for USD 9000 - only 400 dollars. A 2500 car can give only some 50 dollars of profit. A million of BMW is more profitable than some 100 million Tata 2500 dollars car.
That is the same challenge Yenry Ford met 100 yeard ago. It was quiteprofitable to produce a 500 dollars vehicle in 1905 than 30 cars of 200 dollars.
But Henry Ford managed to overcome.
I'm sure such marasmatic situation can't be forever. Now Renault-Nissan ig going to be in competition with Tata.
When in your opinion low-cost revolution becomes possible?

My opinion would be too controversial, so no comment.

For some 3 billion of population that is very important. Even in developped countries many people want to pay less, to work less and spend more time with their childrei. That may become a real revolution and the world will give a great evaluation to low-cost research in the West. That takes 100 times less money than USA Defence and some 10 times more popularity.
Are different social and protest movements in the West begin to realize the significance of low-cost revolution in the world? Your opinion on that may be less controversial

I presume that those of you who want close down Radio Maryja don't listen it anyway. I do understand that communist censorial mentality is still deeply inside of many Poles, even those who consider themselves to be staunch anti-communists. This is the highest time for you to chose finally some way of thinking, either freedom of speech and democracy or censure and "people's democracy".

I really love this radio station and I wish all of you would stop picking on Father R. Great men are not always well understood.

Tell us what is so good on it for you love the radio that much ?...

I will try to explain what is about RM. Some people here claim that this is mostly about politics and this betrays them, because this is obvious that they never bothered to listen to it themselves. I did try to check out what is about, some time ago I listened RM few days before I went to the bed. What I found out that they either praying or talking about religion/family all the time. One must really know the time of some political auditions to find it. Still this radio is a private property of the Redemporist order and nobody can tell them to abandon political activity (except some foreign leader of the order).

What is good about RM? Mostly elderly people listen to it and this radio giving them hope, some sense of living, an opportunity of activity on this field. They often have beautiful history, fighting against the Germans, opposing communist regime and in revenge they were simply robbed by the state. They worked whole life and now receiving ****** pensions while former communists otherwise.

So no matter how would the left demonize RM and try to close down or how much I personally disagree with them especially about economic issues I say that this is good tha they exist and i will always defend them against the enemies of the free speech.

What is more I congratulate Rydzyk his achievements, he started from zero. He was the first to broke the wall of media monopoly of post-communist elites ala Gazeta Wyborcza. Mainstream media giants just love to talk about "Rydzyk media empire", this is unbelievable hypocrisy. I hope that some day also conservative liberals will create such media tube.

as to Rydzk empire, he has "TV Trwam" he has "Radio Maryja" he has "Nasz Dziennik" I agree that they mostly pray and talk about family (yes I have checked it ;) ) but when they start to talk about policy, values, religion, church ... ehhh they make fool form this old people... And I prefere TVN POLSAT Dziennik Rzeczpospolita or GW.
