Konsul.

Why ? Because of the beautiful red-head who appears in half the scenes.

I really don't know.

The film is about 17 years old and stars Piotr Franczewski.

Krysia,

Yes.

Be careful there might be more than one [red-head] in the movie.

"Hi Way" by Mumio... heh.
Actually, it may be difficult to call it one "movie", but that's the point!

I love 'Pan Tadeusz' by Andrej Wajda (though I have to guess the actors' speeches by remembring the 'English' lines of Mickiewicz as there is no subtitle). It is definitely one of the most moving films in my opinion. Gloriously beautiful sceneries, brilliant music score, great actings by Boguslaw Linda and Dan Obryszchki (and even the ever handsome Michal Zabrowski), shockingly beautiful actresses (cant remember the name of girl who played Zosia) all contibute to the sublimity of the film. Initially, I did find some reservation concerning the fighting scenes but then I understand, as a poetic movie, Pan Tadeusz does not need to be brutally realistic concerning gore and death (See 'Kanal' of the same Wajda to know what he is capable of!) The movie did not even manage to win an Oscar nomination, as some people have complained, but really who care? If I and you know it is a great work of art to be treasured, it doesn't really need some snotty American film gurus to change the belief (especially by just slapping about a fake golden statue!). Anyway, Wajda earned a Lifetime honor by said gurus in 2000 and I suspect, Pan Tadeusz played a significant contribution to this 'ultimate' acknowledgement.
