London is rough as hell and too expensive. Try moving elsewhere in the UK. You'll find it much cheaper. London is only decent to VISIT but awful to live in.

I disagree... have you ever actually lived in London, or do you just come down on't coach have a nosey at Hamleys and go looking for't posh folk in't Harrods before going to watch Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in't westend before having a nice tea at TGI Fridays?

I think you just met the wrong people. Up North you could equally meet people you would not like.

Then again, I don't think anywhere in UK would be suitable because you seem to have your heart set on living in Canada.

I have been living in England for the past 4 years almost, now i know that Poland is much better than living with all those stuck-ups...

Oi!! watch it!! (Ok, only joking). What part of London are you living in? let me see if I can diagnose the problem. I've lived in London for 8 years, and can't imagine living anywhere else... so many up-fer-it types...

Having said that, I went to Montreal a few years ago, and loved it.

It's probably your attitude sweetheart. It kinda...... stinks. The British don't put up with those attitudes especially from those we have just let in.

well darling if it was not for the immigrants this country would be way behind in Europe...now Britain is likely to face the worst period for decades whenit comes to economics, why??? Coz English are too lazy to take blue colar jobs, they are not fully educated, they are narrow-minded, self-absorbed. When I went to Tenerife I was stunned how English the south of the island was. Pubs and bars would sell only English food, mainly breakfast 24/7, English lads and gals puking all over the palce on saturday and friday nights. In Poland English tourists are regarded as the worst ever-drinking up for free hoping to get laid by 'according to them' easy POlish women. They abuse US Poles verbally and to a lesser extent phisically...
I only came here to do my studies and experience fairly limping British Culture. But I will not deny that I did enjoy every single year while being here- I learnt how to appreciate my own native land...

You talk out of your arse sweetheart. Yes we need migrants but we don't need migrants that don't have respect. There is always someone else to replace them with. You're probably about the only Pole that I've known to have a stinking attitude and to be honest if I knew you and your attitude was as it is now I'd show you no respect either. I wouldn't go out of my way to make you feel welcome. I'd want you out of the country.

hahaha...no worries mr George, or whatever your name is....
i am leaving YOUR country in few months, but just wanted to clarify sth- i do have respect for the queen, the prime minister, people who rule the country in general, henry VIII, Elizabeth, Victoria etc, but I have the right not to like YOU as a nation, and I am not saying the every single English bloke or a gal sucks, there are good ones too, but those whom I have come across so far made me not like the country esp London entirely.
YOu show some respect when you travel, coz apparently according to the data gathered thru the past years English are the worst tourists in the world. WHY???
Answer yourself....

Nothing wrong with Felicita thinking like that. I think the same of Poland and Polish people (lived here 4 years). I must be worse as I also have no respect for Polish politicians and the people who run this country. The number of nasty people I have met here far outnumber the nice people I have met. So it would seem that everything has a counterbalance and therefore everything is fine 'n dandy!

nothing much has changed since the surveys conducted in 2002,maybe just the fact that English dropped to the second place following French hahaha

Good girl.... so you ran off to do your research. Give yourself a gold star.

So while you were living in London, did you go out to pubs and parties etc. or did you just stay at home, too bloody miserable to make the effort to get out there and enjoy yourself? Nationality has noting to do with your woes.... it's all about your state of mind.

Lukasz will be along in a mo, to post a pic of a stag-party lad in a Borat style mankini shagging a dustbin somewhere in Krakow....

it seems that you are not fit for London, nor the Enlish culture. It depends what you are looking for. It seems to me that you maybe a small city girl (there i snothing wrong with that), or perhaps like more space, which we have planty of here.

The good think about Canada you have already metnioned, but also we have the most brutal winter that even Canadians cannot withstand, so, there are pluses and minuses to every place.

As for stuck-up people, we have some here as well.

PS. If you are not happy with yourslef, you will always something to complain about regardless of teh palce.

Good luck!

you know i used to adore London, hanging around bars and clubs meeting new people from all walks of life, but the problem of my existence started when London started lacking social cohesion. People rush everywhere, even on a slow day like sunday, making friends is difficult coz keeping in touch limits to txting or meeting up once every two months.
AM I a small town girl, not really, but I like spacious cities, not metropolia like New York or Toronto or even Chicago-I love Ottawa for example which has a little bit of everything- an immense fields of green and water and woods, small shops and restaurants it is a cosmopolitan city too. Having tea and my fav cheese danish pastry at Tim Hortons or lunch is better than queing at overpriced Starbucks on Oxford street in London...
I am happy with myself, coz I do appreciate everything life offers, even that good lesson here in London with English people-I did not say all of them are bad, coz they are not there are some nice people too, but those whom I met outnumbered all the good ones...
I didnt want to offend anyone-I just expressed my views and shared my experience, but I guess LondonChick does not comprehend the idea that English mite have a bad side too...as every nation, as Poles, Canadians, French, Pakistani, Japanese...

as for Canadian winter-I experienced a month of it, I absolutely loved it, I know it is severe at times and maybe longish up to six months, but i guess I am ready for the challenge....

I have travelled quite a lot, and no matter where I go I always find happiness in every single place i go to...
