Finally I get to eat Polish food again.

Well I've been away at college for a few months, and I like it and all except the food here is horrible. Coming from a typical Polish family I'm used to having a good home cooked Polish meal every night for dinner. Well, winter break starts in less then a week, so I get to go home an enjoy Polish food again. I can't wait.

Anyone else craving a Polish home cooked meal?

I live in the US and I prefer to drive 60 miles to buy food from Amish people instead of eat junk from the city stores. Even when I buy food from Polish stores they don't taste good anymore. In Polish cities food is getting worse and worse too. But at least you drive a few miles and can get tasty food cheap directly from Polish farmers. You need to speak Polish though .

Whenever I go to Poland I eat more than I usually do here in America. However, I don't gain any weight, in fact I usually loose weight.

Just this week I watched a report on the news saying that according to some kind of survey, Poles are the third thinnest nation in Europe, just after French and Italians. Belgians came on the fourth place, and Slovaks on the fifth. It seems that traditional heavy polish cuisine isn’t that bad for your health after all.

PS: I don’t know if the non-EU countries were also taken into the account though.

I recommend eating with moderation.

PS: I have problems with it though.

I am new to this site today! I saw your post and it's pretty old, but man can I sympathize! I would kill for authentic Polish food!!! I can't cook. I wish I had proded my grandmother and Mom more for their recipes. I am anxiously awaiting Thanksgiving (Polak style) next month. What is you biggest craving? Also, where was your photo taken for your profile?
