First month in Warsaw, trying to combat homesickness!

I'm in Warsaw for the next couple of years. I'm loving it really but you know it's early days and I'm trying to keep super busy. Would love to make some new mates - expats or Polish hopefully both - to go to the pub with and generally start feeling a bit more settled here...I'm not sure I fancy going to sit in a bar by myself!! Any really good clubs / organisations I can join? Any suggestions?

Ouch, it's always hard at the beginning. I had a similar experience myself. Unfortunately I don't know any regular posters that are actua;y living in Warsaw. Hope that someone will eventually show up though. All the best to you. :)

Hi New Adventures ...

Even though I don't live in Warsaw permanently, I 'm there on business nearly every month and have my own flat in Wilanow.

I'm lucky that i have friends who have moved to Warsaw permanently and I can pop in to see them whenever i get lonely and start missing my wife and kids - i will be in Warsaw next in June , 12-26, as it's my God-daughters 8th birthday and i also have some clients to show around developments in the city.

If you'd like to meet up for a drink when i'm over send me an email. I speak English and Polish fluently.

Are you working or studying in Warsaw ?

I enjoyed myself straight from the whole beginning, but never actually stopped to feel homesick. :(

he mate,
I'm Dutch living in warsaw for almost a year, and know exactly what you mean. It would be easier if you would tell bit more about yourself, where you are from, what you are doing and how old you are.

Polanglik - I'm working over here, would be great to meet you too and I will be in contact nearer the time. Sounds like we'll have a few things in common - working in UK v Poland. Is there a way I can contact you other than using this website?

Maikel - haha, I'm too modest to write all about myself!

Hi New, i hope you don't mind being on first name terms .... you can call me Pol !! :-)

If you go to my profile i believe you can write to me on private email.

what have you got planned for this weekend .... is it as unbearably hot in Warsaw as it is in Krakow ?

i am going to a Property exhibition here in Krakow, and i've heard some say it will reach the mid thirties !! ..... i should really be on a beach in this weather.

tomorrow i fly back to London, where i've been told it's a lot cooler.

Look forward to hearing from you ...

Pol
