FISZ 24 | 2,116 14 Oct 2006 #61Could be, but it's more of a concentrated juice so theres really not much added. She likes it strong anyway :) I don't care for it though. I'm not into sweet beer.
Bartolome 2 | 1,085 16 Oct 2006 #62OK, Tyskie.Where are those times gone, when even small towns had their own breweries ? Before the II WW, for instance, there were breweries in Opole, Grodków (however those towns were still within German Reich). It's a pity that those factories lay in ruins now.
ola123 16 Oct 2006 #63I bought recently "dog in the fog" :) ...whatever..... didnt like it :(.Only Tyskie :).
Zywiec 13 Nov 2006 #66Has anyone seen all the beers listed on this website:yespils.com/index.php?path=selThere are some I've never heard of. They seem to be regional... I never saw beers like "Kujawiak" in Warsaw or Krakow pubs/clubs.When I was in Poland, I stuck to Zywiec, Okocim, and Lech. Zywiec seemed to be the best (and most common). A local female told me that only girls drink Lech (anyone agree with that?), so I avoided it later in my trip. Can't wait to get back to PL to enjoy a cold one or two... or 10.
Matyjasz 2 | 1,544 13 Nov 2006 #67A local female told me that only girls drink Lech (anyone agree with that?), so I avoided it later in my trip.I have changed my mind, this is what I find really offensive!! :) :)
kryzs 15 Nov 2006 #68I would say Okocim...They had it at a soccer game in York Ville In Illinois while I was there visiting and it was GOODDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Tom27 16 Nov 2006 #70Fisz, How do You think? - "Tyskie ponad wszystkie"? Best regarts - Tom from Poland. Bud is ok too but not light ( I have spent 1,5 year in US - Cherokee NC):)
dziwna_gruszka - | 197 16 Nov 2006 #71I WOULD HAVE TO SAY ZYWIEC>>> or MAGNAT>>> or LECH>>>>>... but i'm not sure i think ZYWIEC IS THE BEST!!! AND SPIRITUS POLISH WODKA WHICH IS ALMOST PURE ALCOHOL IT THE BESTEST TASTING ALCOHOL ON THIS PLANET!!!
Lakelandhiker 1 | 42 16 Nov 2006 #72Do you have Becherovka in Poland? It is Popular in the Czech Republic and VERY nice. It is only 38% though so a little weaker than your vodka......
miranda 8 Dec 2006 #74sorry, beer is a beer is a beer. After the second beer I am not able to taste the diferrance.
Kasper 12 Dec 2006 #78Zywiec is a damn fine beer, and quite readily available in Australia.I has warka strong when i was in pl and i thought it was awesome, unfortunately, you can't get warka in australia.I never had Tyskie but everyone says how good it is, what kind of beer is it?
hello 22 | 890 12 Dec 2006 #79Tyskie is quite strong and is quite popular in Poland (especially that it has good PR campaign - it's a sponsor of Wisla Krakow and other sports teams).
FISZ 24 | 2,116 13 Dec 2006 #80never had Tyskie but everyone says how good it is, what kind of beer is it?It's a lager. Bit hoppy and not too much of an alcohol taste. Pretty good beer.
BubbaWoo 33 | 3,506 13 Dec 2006 #82when i first went to poland everyone was drinking ten and a half but now i never see it... anyone know why...?
kaka 1 | 142 29 Dec 2006 #83thats right. one day ten and a half was very popukar, and then suddenly desapeared. The best polish beer is TYSKIE
Lakelandhiker 1 | 42 29 Dec 2006 #84Thanks to the weatherspoons chain you can buy both Tyskie and Zwiecz all over the UK. You have to go easy though as Polish beer is very strong :)
Lakelandhiker 1 | 42 29 Dec 2006 #86Well strong compared to normal British beers! Tyskie & Zywiec are 5.6%!!
Zgubiony 15 | 1,553 29 Dec 2006 #87Sounds like my kind of beer. Is it readily available outside pl?Yes. Im in the US though. Our grocery store chains carry it. But, per Lakelandhiker it's all over the UK.
Splat 3 Jan 2007 #88Zywiec reminded me of Heineken, but it's definitely got a better taste IMO. Zywiec is the only Polish beer anyone carries around here. Maybe I gotta make a beer run into Bayonne. :)
BubbaWoo 33 | 3,506 3 Jan 2007 #89one day ten and a half was very popukar, and then suddenly desapeared.yeah KK... thats really weird... i even have a promotional t shirt from ten years ago but nowadays... nothing... weird... does anyone know why...?
ChicagoTom 5 Jan 2007 #90I just got back from Poland with my wife and had a number of beers there that were not available for sale here in my hometown of Chicago. After the trip my favorite Polish beers are as follows:1. Wojak2. Fratter3. Lech4. Okocim5. Zywiec6. Warka7. HarnasWojak and Fratter are fantastic but hard to find. I found Wojak at Kaufland in Bielsko-Biala and Fratter in a local Albert supermarker within the Karpackie neighborhood in Bielsko-Biala. I wish these two beers were available in Chicago. They are fantastic!Anyone else had these beers?
