Best Places to eat in Wroclaw

Hey guys Im still doing a bit of research on opening up a restaurant in wroclaw so if you wouldnt mind letting me know good places to eat.that would be great will be there next week and and plan on having a little snoop around

There`s a phenomenal pizzeria in Biskupin but it has NO name. It is run by students and they don`t advertise! It is close to the odra river on the site of the Akademia Wychowania Fizycznego (old white german styled building), south of ul. zygmunta wroblewskiego / karola olszewskiego, just east of the zoo. EDIT: on ul. rzezbiarska ( 51.098951,17.084413 )

Best pizza in all of poland IMO. If they advertised and were in a better location, they would be much more successful.

There`s another pizzeria, on karola olszewskiego (at the end of the tram line i believe) run by a former wroclaw basketball player - also good food.

Marche on the corner of swidnicka and pilsudkiego is an excellent self serve restaurant.

pgtx: i bet Wroclaw's wife cooks best! :) she is good, but i do most of the cooking. there is or was a Polish restaurant selling only Polish food, near south park. can't remember the name of it though. when i was there it was good.

1. There is Marché on the corner of Pilsudskiego and Powstańców Śląskich (50% off after 2000 or 2100 - some kind of buffet, but with a difference)
2. There is Spice India on Wita Stwosza
3. There is JaDka on Rzeźnicza
4. There is a nice Italian restaurant on ksiecia Witolda (forgot the name, sorry, could be called Marina)
5. There is Oregano on the corner of Kuznicza and Igielna
6. There is Od Nova on Pawla Wlodkowica (next to the synagogue)
7. And you might want to try Abram's Tower on Krainskiego, a little difficult to find the entrance, but have a look at their website or their facebook-page.

I'm sure the PF-members from Wroclaw can tell you a couple more. So ... how many days do you have ... ;)?

1 week going to stop eating on friday so ill be starving by monday afternoon when i get there then im gonna hit every eatery for the whole week and see what i can come up with

Stu: 2. There is Spice India on Wita Stwosza To be honest i was quite disappointed with the indian cuisine in wroclaw, both at spice india and masala. I`ve had much better indian food in england and the usa (made by indian immigrants).

I have to agree with you.

The first time I came there, the food was really very good. The second time, they obviously had another chef and it wasn't as spicy as I had liked. Also the nice, round flavour was absent.

I'll be in Wroclaw tomorrow. I might just go there again. I will post my findings late in the evening.

By the way ... the geezers I saw in the kitchen the first time, were Pakistani. I didn't see who was in the kitchen the second time.

So I just returned from a dinner in Spice India (and a jolly nice drink with convex).

The food was really good this time. Not overly spicy, but nice rounded flavours and a nice hint of heat. \my wfe had the chicken pollak (chicken in spinach), I had the lamb in spicy tomato sauce, accompanied with garlic bread and rice with vegetables (peas and carrots).

I had two glasses of Rioja with it, and it kinda matched the food, although if it had been more spicy the wine would have gotten lost.

The waiter was a very friendly guy and I noticed him speaking English in the kitchen.

So this time (the third time) no disappointment. It's a pity they are not more constant in their cooking ... it's a little haphazard, unfortunately.

Went to place called Texas Burger Grill or something along those lines at Armii Krajowej 6c. They do burgers and burritos. Had a burger, bun wasn't all that great, the patties were alright, toppings were pretty good. Might be worth a try if you're in the area, not really worth driving across town for..

Well ... yes, actually. JaDka and Od Nova did make an impression. The food is good (I have to mention the tartare in JaDka - superb! And the venison I had was wonderful. My wife had the duck and she was extatic about it!), very friendly staff, the wines match the food, wide choice in both food and wine and very reasonably priced. Haven't been to Abram's Tower recently; when I was there about a year ago, they were still in a start-up fase. But the location is quite special.

If you want to see the local artists and actors, go to Marché. The food is okay, but don't expect wonders. If you wanna have a huge and tasty salad for lunch, I'd recommend Marina on ksiecia Witolda.

Apparently it's got a name, CiaoCiao. It is very hard to find though. Doesn't help that they have some sort of windsurfing ad on the closed door. They're advertising has expanded to include a fold up sign out front that just says CaioCiao and points to the main entrance of the building.

Anyway, had a good pizza and a pepsi for 14zl. Good service. The guy behind the counter couldn't speak English very well, but his Polish was great... Can't go wrong there. They deliver too.

Piwnice Świdnickie - Rynek - Ratusz 1

Since the missus was away, I decided to get myself a meal in the city. Piwnice Świdnickie has this "French" part of the restaurant. You go down the stairs and then turn left.

I asked whether I could pay by debet or credit card, but the waitress told me that the restaurant was new and therefore didn't have a terminal yet. So if you wanna go there, take enough cash.

I ordered a duck salad for a starter but got a prawn salad. How the waitress could have misheard me is a little beyond me. Also in French there is a big difference between duck (canard) and prawns (crevettes). But anyway, I didn't send it back. Prawns were rather chewy, so not a good choice.

For main dish I ordered a steak with pate de foie gras in a red port reduction, veggies, and some kind of potato rosti. The steak was cooked okay, although the cut was a little disappointing (lots of sinew). Veggies were rather basic and not much more than two teaspoons full. The rosti and the veggies were completely smothered in butter; not very pleasant to eat. The Cotes du Rhone was nothing special. Including a double espresso I had to part with PLN 130.

I've had much better food for that price, even on Rynek.

Definitely not recommended.

Wait a minute... Did you mean "Piwnica Świdnicka" ? This one?:

Did she say it is new ?! This is the oldest restaurant in Wroclaw, started somewhere in middle ages... of course after WWII there is a few decades hole but anyway, it is a restaurant there for a couple of years again...
