In Poland is a joke, with tells that you don't drink vodka - you are reading books

Huh ?

Guest  Jun 12, 06, 17:30    #32
When a student (or not) tells you he's going to read books, it means he's going to drink vodka.

If you come to the U.S. and ask for mad dog you will get the cheapest wine made.
The bums drink it on skid row

My personal favorite Polish vodka is "Luksusowa", clean , good quality in my opinion.

Bols vodka was too crazy hahaha .

Luksusowa is class, good with deli , and just overall goodness. I only drink vodka for a whole night when I'm in Gdynia.

If you're a drunkard you can drink it. I make homemade Miod Wodka And it's very drinkable. The problem is that it takes 8 mos to make.

Sounds like putchine - that'll make you go blind!

I have to say I tried the black vodka and nearly gagged and I have tired many drinks....it was even worse than Unicum (Hungarian drink)

I loved the cherry one, not too strong and a nice drink

Haha. Very true. In Poland they don't let me drive even the next day after drinking it. I love this old Polish recipe nothing beats it and luckily I have no problems finding 95% spirits here in the US. I can make it weak if requested...but Nah!
Cherry is ok but it's only 35%

Hello,
just wondering if you could help me
I went to a party the other night and was given a few shots of a polish drink. All i remember is it was cherry flavoured, also available in cranberry and was about 36%. It sounds like what you are describing above. could you tell me the name of it please? I hardly remember that night, and didnt drink much besides so im holding that drink responsible!

Yes. I have an old PL recipe for this. Except there is no lemon and it's aged. I use honey that I purchased outside Szczecin. Very tasty stuff.

Rafik- did they lower the alkohol content of Krupnik all over PL? When I was in south Pl it was changed to 38% but when in Poznan it was 40%. Here in the US it's 40% too. Do you know if it's been changed for good? I'm not sure if you drink it...just thought i'd ask.

Shelley  Aug 24, 06, 09:17    #53
Just a quick question, when I've been to the Czech Rep. in winter they sell - mulled wine and grog - well i was really hoping something similar will be on offer when i go to Poland in December - I know that there is nothing with a steaming hot cup of tea - but it's not quite the same!

What is the equivalent - or is quite the same

I think they do. My GF was drinking hot wine when we were snowboarding. I think it's called Grzaniec.

Dangerous sport, a friend of mine had to have several operations on her anckel after some idot dirty German knocked off the ski lift! I'll stick to skiing thanks

HOT BEER IS JUST WRONG ON EVERY LEVEL

GRZANE PIWO (mulled beer): In pot combine 1 qt beer, 4 T. sugar, 1 bayleaf, 2 pinches of cinnamon and ground cloves and (optional) a pinch of pepper. Heat to just below boiling, stirring to dissolve sugar and serve. Increase or decrease sugar and spices according to tast

GRZANIEC (mulled wine): In pot combine 1 qt dry red wine, 5-6 T. sugar, a grating of nutmeg and a pinch or two of cinnamon and ground cloves and heat to boiling. You can also use a sweet red wine, in which case omit or decrease the amount of sugar.

You can say that again. Even the thought of the warm last sip in a bottle makes me want to gag. It seems to be pretty popular there in the mountains. I was asking for a nice cold beer...even when it's freezing out it's refreshing to me.

yes i did drink it but a long time ago and i am sure that the alcohol content was 40%.i don't know what it is now but if they changed that i won't touch that stuff again.
krupnik is a bit too sweet and heavy for me.if you drink too much it will give yuo a huge headache next morning. have you tried GORZKA ZOLADKOWA yet?it has a bit herbal taste but i think is just briliant

Yes. I love Zoladkowa!! It was the first one that I tried in PL. I got a bit too drunk because it went down way too easily...and so did I....Gleba I've recently tried the mint flavored but didn't like it as much.
