I had forgotten how much I love cider, until I was in Oxford last week---pleasantly reminded.
Does anybody know of any places in Warsaw that carries cider? I found the British shop in centrum has a good selection but the prices are crazy.

another thing, why does Poland not produce cider?? They have the best apples here- you would think......I did find something called "shade" cydr and the price looks good- the only thing is trying to find it. Not all places carry it.

If somebody wants a good business idea in Poland---start up a cider company- it would totally be a hit!!

You can get it from the Fish & Chip shop on Koszykowa but as can be seen from their website here it is not cheap.

Personally I have mine delivered from the UK by www.britishcornershop.co.uk and they are a very nice bunch of people.

I have been told that Marks & Spencer in Zloty Tarasy have cider but I haven't been to check yet.

The problem with cider in Poland is that it is taxed as if it was wine, not as beer.

Looks like the best deal (for decent cider, e.g. Thatchers) from britishcornershop.co.uk is £85 for 52 cans (two 24-packs at £29.99 each and one 4-pack at £4.99, which means a 4-pack is actually cheaper per can!), so about 8zl per can.

I had a Stella cider in Oxford last week- oh man- I had forgotten the taste. And long gone are the expat days at Morgan's pub in Warsaw where they had cider on tap. sad.

My pleasure. However, you might want to note that a pint of cider in either place is more than 20zl!
