Let's play a game. Name a Polish Food. Also, post if you like it, hate it or never had it. And let's leave Pierogi and Kielbasa off the list, as those are just mainstream foods now.

I'll start: Flaczki and I've had it (once a week from the local Polish store or when my father is in the mood, we cook it together) and Loooove it!

I like all the Polish food, it is of course my favorite food. There's really nothing I do not like. Apart from Indian and Turkish food I can not stand. I have not yet tried so many international dishes, maybe there's more I do not like.

I'll try but I won't know all the names probably.

Some kind of ham that's very wet in consistency and has an almost honeycomb type texture
- hate it.

Kaszanka - love it.

Flaczki - never had it (I don't think so anyway)

polishmama when creating a new thread, please put it in the correct forum. News, politics was not the correct one for this. :)

Kaszanka would be one Polish food that I dislike. Bigos doesn't look very appealing when you first see it, but tastes nice, so thumbs up for that.

Ooos, sorry, I just clicked New Thread... :) Anyway, we love Bigos in my house. My American husband jokingly calls it "The Big Stuff" bc we make a HUGE pot of it when we do make it. Yummmm... And with some good polish bread with real butter? Eyes rolling good...

I love bigos too! A friend at work made a big batch for her Polish husband this weekend. She's bringing some for me today. Can't say I dread going to work today ;)

A sincere thanks PF, for putting up with me FIVE terrific years, muah!

I don't recall eating that one, except the version with mushrooms in the sauce, which was oh my goodness good.

Kaszanka (or Kiszka as it's called in the states) is so good in the morning, my little ones always loved it even as babies... To each their own... :)

Tripe soup. I like it plus bigos, golambki, golanka form time to time, karkowka cooked with Knorr's seasoning. One thing I absolutely hate is carp.

In that case I'm fairly certain I wouldn't like it. Hate carp too - although I love fish generally.

There is a fairly standard smooth skinned smoked dark sausage (not kabanossi) which is really good.

Bigos is only edible to me. It's just a mushy pile of vaguely meaty, vaguely cabbagey salty sourness. Nothing against it, just utterly indifferent to it.
