Residents of the Polish city of Krakow have attempted to break the world record for the longest pizza in the world.

The current record for the largest pizza is 407m (445 yds), but the Poles are trying to break it with one reaching more than 1,000m (1093 yds).

It has not yet been officially announced whether the record has been broken.

Hope they didt srpinkle it with tinned sweet corn! That's gross! Also the cold tomato sauce Polish pizzerias serve on the side to drown your pizza in. Ugh! Tomato sauce should be baked into the pizza.

They just make long ones now? Whatever happened to round pizzas cooked by the strength of the sun (and maybe some fire pits)?

Haha I love how the visitors guard rail is only a foot away from the pizza, I would have reached over and ripped the middle away, then ran away.

About 7 years ago I remember them trying to make the world's biggest Pizza in Błonia, Krakow.

They must have failed in that attempt.

Do they give away the pizza once it's made?

1km long, it'd be hard enough to keep the birds off of that.

If it's cooked through properly...

Would it not have to be cooked through properly to constitute a pizza for the breaking of the record?

They'd probably have to wait for the whole thing to be cooked in one whole piece, so most of it would be cold by the time it came to eating.

Have you had a pizza in small-town Poland?

Often grim, but there's a really nice place (cheap as chips) next to the railway station in Nowy Dwor Mazowiecki. One of the best I know is a fixed price place, one type of pizza, only barszcz to drink, 10zl all in, in the old town in Toruń.
