Lech Pils is actually rather nice - much better than the Green label stuff, though I'm not sure if it's actually available in the whole of Poland.

Bosman isn't too bad either, though hard to find.

It's only sold in Wielkopolska. It used to be quite good back in the days, but since then the quality went down hill. All products made by Kompania piwowarska taste like bloody Carlsberg anyway. It's still better than Stella though. :)

Delphian, if you really want to try a proper beer from Wielkopolska, try Fortuna Czarne. This is where its at. :)

There used to be much more choice - Krakus, Hevelius, Dojlidy, EB, Piast, Krolewskie etc. I don't remember any of them being great but at least it wasnt the same old same old in every pub.

Welcome to the corporate world! There are still small breweries in Poland though, have no fear!

Isn't Pollock a fish?

Mintaj, in Polish. Though I understand that some UK supermarkets are calling it something else due to the name sounding like 'bollock' which housewives don't like asking for.

Personally I don't much like mainstream Polish beer. Flavourless, gassy and full of chemicals, each brand pretty well identical. The only one I like to drink is Ciechan, unpasteurised and with real flavour, although it's 6 or 7%.

Guys try it LEZAJSK very good PIWO trust me

I agree, its a beer that you won't be disappointed with, although most Polish beers are pretty terrible, EB was good, and Carlsberg (brewed in Poland is ok) I sometimes wonder if Poles enjoy there beer or drink for the sake of getting drunk.

WARSAW, Poland - A Benedictine nun is facing jail for driving a tractor into a car while drunk outside her convent in southwestern Poland, police said Friday.

The 45-year-old nun will be charged with drunk-driving and causing an accident, which carries a prison sentence of up to two years, Dariusz Waluch, police spokesman in the southwestern Polish town of Dzierzoniow, told the local news agency PAP.

He said the nun was 17 times over the country’s legal alcohol limit for driving

However I don't drink too much beer, my best Polish beer was ¬ywiec for years. And this year I came to like Tyskie..... Actually I'm just drinking one... Hmmmmm. Delicious. :)

Polish hangovers can be monstrous - there's one way to fight them, and that's with fire. I recommend the bloody mary at sense, the intercontinental and the bristol. hangover gone in thirty seconds.
