Do you know the laws for shipping alcoholic beverages from the US to Poland (and back)?

I believe you need to be a licensed distributor to bring alcohol into the U.S.

(Ron, if you do end up making some good Krupnik, I'm willing to make the mighty sacrifice and drink some of your moonshine :) I have some sloe gin going that might be right up your alley...

Sounds good to me! Where are you located? I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Well next time I'm going to Poland I'll let you know in advance. We go through Wroclaw on our way to Krakow but I've never actually had a chance to stop and visit Wroclaw. I hear it is a great place to spend some time. My wife says I would like it. We could have a few drinks together.

Just a quick update.

There is a great homebrewing store here in Poland now. They've got grain and extract kits for Polish beer :)

Thanks for the info re the new homebrewing shop.. it has made my OH very happy - he has been thinking about starting brewing his own beer for ages but was just pondering how to obtain the kit....so he has just ordered a starter kit from the site now LOL.

Any ideas of where is best to get bottles (I've seen them in Carrefour). He also wants to start mashing ... help on where in Warsaw or close is has ingredients for sale would be appreciated - if there is anywhere that is.

I'd suggest kegging it. It's much easier :)

For bottles, just save up your empties from here on out and buy caps at the beer store.

I don't know Warsaw, but that company that I mentioned earlier has a store there.

Warszawa - Sklep Piwowar - ul. Słowackiego 27/33 lokal 190 Magda Kobus, tel. (022) 832 31 62 lub (604) 55 80 55

Let me know how it works out.

that's great, thanks. Once the kit has arrived we'll pop up there and have a look.
