i made it last week.... kotlet z rączka (with a bone) ;) well, it was beef not pork, but still :)

On my way back from the church tomorrow, z koszyczkiem, I'm going to go to Loblaw for podroby for krupnik. It will be gooood :)

It's in Polish cook book I have. It's very simple: water, barley, bone, some vegetables, some podroby and voila!

That krupnik I'm going to try when I'll go to Poland in June. I never had that. I had a lot of miód pitny but never krupnik.

Pierogi


My pierogi. Don't mind the paper plate. I boil the pierogi from the frozen state, take the soften pierogi and then saute it with chopped wild mushroom and onion in olive oil and butter. Tastes very good, and even with pepper.

That's how I do them too. I wish I knew how they cook them in my local bar - they are always shiny with fat but never stodgy or greasy.

It also depends the type of dough the pierogi is made of. Here in Chicago we have one of the highest quality kinds known as Kasia's. I personally think too much grease and fat is disgusting....but whatever suits you lol.

Had peirogis last night. so good. my favorite are patotes peirogi. with me living with two Polish people I have them every week.
