Smalec is great, especially with little bits of bacon and onion in it ;)

The Brits do too, with their fish and chips. I've not tried yet, but if its as good as the pickled onions I will love it :)

Take Bigos for example. Using preserved cabbage (an ingredient that should never be preserved) and pork. This meal would taste and does taste a thousands times better using fresh cabbage

Strangely enough, it doesn't.

Many recipes state that both fresh cabbage and sauerkraut should be used, but I only use the latter in mine.

I have a several secret ingredients in my recipe (I would bet a month's wages that I'm the only person in the world which uses at least one of them in Bigos lol), but just like every Bigos chef would claim, my recipe is of course the best in the world :)

Why do you in GB don't eat salads at all?

What on earth gives you that idea? Believe it or not, some of us even chop our salads properly over here.

Speaking of salads, I'd do anything for one of those Pizza Express Caesar salads right now :D

pgtx:
what is the difference between them...?

One is from 1956 and is falling to pieces, one has lots of nice modern photos in, and the other one has a recipe for Kluski Šl±skie in, which the first two don't, lol :D

lol one eats is sparingly and that is the secret:)

Best kept a secret if you ask me! :D
