Does anyone know where to find Weetabix or similar in Warsaw/Poland?

My son has been very used to eating these for breakfast and is now missing them. Cornflakes just don't cut it, nor a variety of overpriced and oversugared cereals that we have tried. I'm looking for Weetbix / Weetabix / Wheat biscuits style cereal.

If any homesick Brits / Australians / NZers have figured out how to source these for a reasonable price, please let me know. I found a box on allegro for 47zl! (72 pc) But I'm not going to swallow that.

FYI, this is what I'm talking about:

britsuperstore.com/acatalog/Weetabix.html

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weet-Bix

Cheers,

Allegro.pl

that place has everything: allegro.pl/weetabix-original-mega-opakowanie-72szt-i3346783534.html

(this one's a bit pricey, but they have smaller packs too)

Marks and spencers have their own brand in Warszawa.

Doesn't the Kuchnia Swiat also have them??

Thanks all for the replies. I'm not keen to pay the allegro price, but I'll check out M&S and Kuchnia Swiat.

M&S is the place to go. They are own-brand ("wholegrain wheat bisks") but pretty much indistinguishable from Weetabix. They are also less than half the price of Kuchnia Swiata (11.50zl for 24 vs over 30zl for 24).

One thing though, these are Weetabix, not the Weet-Bix that Kiwis grew up eating. Not quite the same thing. But a lot closer together than real Marmite and that disgusting stuff you have.

Hehe - lets not start on the finer points of English "cuisine".

I'm pleased to report that I've acquired some M&S weetabix clones and they are good substitute for the weetbix my son used to eat. Though I have to say, they are far from the universal value food that they are back home. At 10zl a box, they are twice the price.

If you want some Marmite, I'll be going to UK later this month, happy to add another jar to the order I'm bringing back.

Tempted but I won't be around long enough this time to take you up on your offer.

No worries.

BTW: if you want to meet more foreigners in Warsaw and find out a bit about life here, I'd suggest checking out the Facebook group Professionals in Warsaw

facebook.com/groups/professionalsinwarsaw

and going along to one of their regular meet-ups (normally those are Wednesday evenings). Also, you might want to go to Legends or the Warsaw Tortilla Factory this Saturday for the Lions vs Australia game, there'll be a fair few expats out for that.

Amazon.co.uk offers free shipping to Poland for orders over 25 pounds. However it is only for certain items. Luckily Weetabix is one of them. Last time I checked, 144 biscuits were just over 14 pounds, so just get two of those and you are set.
