Anyone bake or serve sernik (cheesecake) as part of their Easter feast? I understand some contain semolina? Anyone familiar with those?

I don't know what semolina is. But yeah we receive a sernik every easter and christmas from our next door neighbour, I'm pretty confident that it's the cream of the crop of all serniks ;) the very creme de la creme of "serniksecity"...

semolina

is a special type of processed wheat if I am not mistaken. It is used exclusively in pasta making process, but I cannot really see it being used in sernik.

naaah sernik is all around, all year king of the table for me ; P

kaszka manna just as just kaszka is a common name for milk soup in Poland : o

Semolina is a pudding of sorts, not such a great one at that. I used to hate it as a kid. Tapioca is much better :)

Frd is right, cheesecake is used all year round. I'm often treated to it in Zabrze when I'm at my wife's parents' place. It's not exclusive to Easter.

not exclusive and to me has never been inclusive of easter (4 me).. pączki, yes.. other stuff, yes.. sernik.. no.

exactly.. and as i said somewhere in the last couple of days, polonius doesn't show to be of sound mind, at times.

must be regional thing.
Sernik was a sure thing for both Christmas and Easter wherever I lived in Poland.

^^ maybe the case as i don't ever recall sernink at easter.. could have been just my family or something too.. maybe there was just never any room for it after all the other eats. :D

With me it was the other way around. I usually got stuffed with sernik first. Sometimes I had enough room for makowiec.
