same thing is going on in Poland.

Mind you, there was great resentment in Wales years ago with the Brits buying cheap properties and now there have been cases in Brittany, Northern France where British owned houses have been targeted. It is a problem that comes and goes all over the World. The thing is, everybody is somewhat interested in other people and people like to meet other people and then make a profit. It is when the ugly word 'competition' comes in that problems and jealousy starts. The Poles are all right when they get their own way but try and compete in Poland with them-that would be an entirely different story if you are taking their jobs away from them.

Whether anyone likes it or not, when a country opens its borders to foreign investment, prices go up, simple as that. You can hate these people, call them Capitalist pigs, but it is the way of the world. Poland is and will continue to benefit from this process, as it struggles with its growing pains.

Remember communism essentially wasted two generations of Poles and that after the horrors and the population losses from WWII. Changing into a free market and now joining the EU are yet the latest in this process of change. No one can stop this tide, so the best thing to do is find a way to adapt.

As an individual, get a good education, buy the most property you can afford, start your own business, invest in yourself. It will not be easy and many will fail, but that is life.

Stop getting angry over it but ........Get over it!!!!!

We dont want foreigners in Poland buying out our homes, go home english GO HOME and leave us alone. And dont tell me I didnt want you, Poles dont want you here bloody capitalists.

Ola, I had no intention of buying Polish land, but after that comment I'm going to do my best to buy a big plot and initiate a 'Slash and burn' policy to annoy the neighbours in the village.
Then I'm going to find out where you live and build a high security prison in the centre of your village for terrorists and murderers.
After that, I will spray the place with 'Agent Orange' and make it uninhabitable for 50 years.

Many Poles have land and houses in England and we don't seem to mind.
Grow up.

Land, property etc is being bought by Polish people who live elsewhere and are not coming back home. this is causing a major problem for the Poles that have not left Poland as the price of land and property is rising faster than the Polish salaries. Other Europeans, English too !! who want to live in Poland will bring their money into the country and help the economy. It's a pity Poland doesn't adopt the same attitude as England and let those who want to come into the country buy whatever as long as they can pay for it and they can prove they intend to stay.

Hi Ola, You're starting to experience what english youngsters have lived with for years. Life is hard and you've got to do your best. Stop being so selfish, if you could afford to do it the other way round you would. The problem faced by the british people is much worse than that. Our jobs are disapearing and our salaries are not going up because we've allowed people like you to have a chance in the world.Maybe the polish could learn by our example and maybe be a little more welcoming. My experience is that Poles have the most to fear from other Poles-distasteful but very true.English people generally conduct their business and investments with a much higher level of integrity so you have nothing to fear from us.I hope you have a good life and you get the home you want, but it wont come for free and you wont get it 'by rights'
! Up with responsible capitalism-Down with socialist peasantry !

slick 77, there maybe hordes of them but i'm sure they're not coming here to be nasty. As for the other comments, I'd ask you to reconsider your viewpoint. My sons and are individuals and can only be judged on their individual characters. They were all born in poland but they do not regard this as a fact which guides their lives or behaviour.
It has been said by many poles that they would much prefer to work for an English boss than a Polish one-They feel they will be treated more fairly and with more integrity.

I merely translated your own comments to everybody...so it really isn't MY viewpoint.

No most of them had already cleared out, still got two living on site though one has a family and the other is an alchy. The alchy is actually pretty cool they pay a 45 PLN / month rent. they are OK for now.

Im assuming you know how hard it is to get rid of these peolpe anyway, i dont want to make anyone homeless but they will have to go at some point.

Listen in bloody Cornwall and Wales some locals are burning holiday homes, because they are affecting the local house prices. This thread is really irritating me now. I noticed Ola hasn't replied recently perhaps she has gone to the UK.
p.s Bubba still not online, currently surfing someone else's access.

Primitive morons wouldn't you agree? But I understand their concerns,I'm a Devonian and my mum is Cornish and it always was a struggle in that respect. As I already said, they are experiencing what Britain's youngsters have for many years .Its tough luck and they have to get on with it and stop whingeing.I wish anyone luck who wants to succeed fairly,I hope they get there too.The situation will not change unless they want communism back and soon it will get worse when foreigners can directly buy land and property.I understand that there are restrictions at the moment, but my wife is Polish and ours had to go in her name.

Please don't take over our country. We don't want British people to be an ethnic minority in thirty years.

Ola.

You Poles are coming over here & where possible taking OUR homes & jobs.
Sale of land is somewhat different here, but where is difference in who goes where? EU allows us to move.

I wish to move to ¬uławki/Gdansk area with my girlfriend. IF I can.
