busy body?

The PWN/Oxford dictionary gives intrygant for busy body. Isn't an intrygant someone who plots, conspires, turns people agaisnt each other, etc. to achieve some underhanded end? Busy bodies simply poke their nose in other people's business disintererstedly, on principle or because they've got nothing better to do, but usually with no thought of personal gain. So does Polish have a good equivalent?

I think that finding an equivalent for a "pierdoła" in AmericanEnglish is difficult. I do not have a clue how to call a "busy body" in a different way.

- wścibski (człowiek) or
- ciekawski

yes i know what the dictionaries say but i have never heard it used in that manner in the USA.. no malicious intent here.. just a busy person.. not a meddler necessarily..
