I am looking at apartments and I am a little confused. I'm using google translate.

In the listing it has a Price and a rent listed as two separate things.

Cena: 1 800 PLN

The rent: 554 PLN Wysokość czynszu: 554 PLN

Further down it has:
Cena 1800 zł/miesięcznie + czynsz (554,42 zł) + opłaty (Price 1800 zł / month + rent (554.42 zł) + fees)

Why are there two different costs listed? Is one what they would call rent in America and the other like a condominium fee or what?

The listing is here, if its not clear what I'm asking: http://dom.gratka.pl/tresc/401-25596737-mazowieckie-warszawa-mokotow-w incentego-rzymowskiego-19.html#ac2b27e369546603,1

Price and Rent mentions are a translation mistake, it is RENT /Price CENA + Czynsz /utilities -maintenance fees, they distinguished the rent and the utilities but you need to add all the costs to get a clear idea of the total monthly price.

Ok I can see on Gratka, the monthly rent is 1800 zl + Utilities 554 zl: 2354 zl per month for the rental of this flat in Warszawa.

If a condominium fee in the US is what we call service charge in the UK (pays for the corridors to be cleaned and lit, the garden tidied, garbage collected, something towards repainting of the exterior etc) then yes.

BTW, you might find ul. Rzymowskiego very noisy. I used to live nearby and it is a busy road with daily traffic jams.

As others have mentioned, there are up three separate things

rent - what you pay the landlord directly

czynsz - maintenance fees (occasionally the landlord will pay this)

opłata - utilities (water, power, heat)

Another complication is that often utilities aren't calculated monthly but every three months or so (or you pay a set fee in advance and then get a refund or have to make another payment depending on your actual usage).
