Definition of danników

Need help translating the meaning of the word: danników. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Well I can't find anything with that spelling, but I did find a definition for dennik whick came back
with two possibles: 1. Floor 2. Seasnail.

I know the typical def for floor is podłoga and snail is ślimak. maybe its an old way of referring to those things. idk? hope this helps

I think that the word was used to describe a person. The sentence that the word is used in is as follows: "Tu mieszka 1 karczmarz, 1 młynarz, 1 od czynszu wolny, 1 krawiec i 3 danników".

The sentence describes some of the people from a village:"Living here are: 1 innkeeper, 1 miller, 1 person living rent free, 1 tailor, and 3 danników" Danników must be an old word that isn't used much anymore.

dannik is.. person who pays taxes i think:) "danina" is old polish word for tax so it has to be like this:)
