Hello,

What would be the English translation of the word: pozgrabieli

I cannot find any dictionary entries for the word pozgrabieli. The word "grabieł" is derived from the verb: grabieć - to rake.

The sentence that pozgrabieli is taken from is as follows:

Powiada, "że we żniwa rączo do pracy się zabreli, żyto, pszenicę pozgrabieli i do stodoły posprzątyweli. Kupcy przytem przyjecheli i wiele im pieniędzy za zboże deli."

I am trying to translate an entry for Kociewacy from the Slownik Geograficzny Królestwa Polskiego. Any guidance on this word would be greatly appreciated.

Ah, Kociewie.

In standard Polish:

że we żniwa rączo do pracy się zabrali, żyto, pszenicę pozgrabiali i do stodoły posprzątali. Kupcy przytem przyjechali i wiele im pieniędzy za zboże dali.

it's 'grabił' and 'grabić', too.

I had to make sure what 'kinky' means. Then no, it's rather 'to talk dirty', no bizarre or deviant tastes implied.
