What is the translation of

What is the difference?

As in when you are asking about two different words or something.
Thanks.

Jaka jest różnica między A a B?

A and B take the kim/czym case.

it's not a typo, it's a different conjunction but I am not sure it is applicable in such case - 'i' seems much safer

edit: 'a' sure fits 'między' (as in 'między niebem a ziemią') but I am not sure if also in the case of 'różnica między' - Polska język, trudna język ;)

Aha, thanks gumi :) I'd use 'a' in cases of doubt, e.g A? a nie B?

"a" is much better here than "i" as it's about the contrast/difference between A and B. It's perfectly safe too.

http://forum.opel24.com/topic/28245-jaka-jest-roznica-miedzy-corsa-B-i -C, have a look at this, Strzyga

http://www.money.pl/forum/temat,57,724014,724014,15,0,jaka;jest;roznic a;miedzy;dochodem;a;przychodem.html, 'a' is used here but differentiating concepts. It just seems far more natural for me to use 'i'.

Seanus, I know that many people use "i", especially in speech, because it's simpler and it requires less mental effort, that's why it seems more natural to you. Still, Słownik poprawnej polszczyzny PWN gives only the "różnica między czym a czym" version. On the other hand, there's an entry in the Poradnia section of the PWN site:

I prefer "a" for stylistic reasons. When you want to stress the difference, "a" sounds much better.

If 'i' is valid then I'm prepared to go with it. I'd say it is :)
