I know the general meaning - but would really appreciate the specifics of 'nabiac sie'

You've taken a load off my mind. I was paying romantic attention to someone, who it seems thought I was joking! I'd only heard that verb when potheads say 'nabij fifka' and I thought he was telling me not to fill myself, in the sense of not getting hopes up.
