Head of the valley

I got to meet someone at the "head of the valley". And it just occurred to me that I have no idea where valley has it's head? Can anyone tell me how this phrase would sound in Polish, please?

I would say that it could be translated as "zwieńczenie doliny" (more or less the highest part of it where it becomes steep). So "at the head of the valley" could be translated as "u zwieńczenia doliny", I suppose. Zib.

I'd say that head of a valley is the opposite end to its tail. But where is the tail then? No idea, in any language.

hmm there's no tail of the valley, there's mouth of the valley which in polish would be "ujście doliny". I've got no idea what the head of the valley is.. probably the far end of the valley when you're entering it. The mentioned "zwieńczenie doliny" sounds ok.
