Help with book inscription

Hello - I recently purchased a used book and found an inscription on the inside cover. I believe - if my quick googling of the few words I could make out is accurate - that it is in Polish and was hoping someone would take the time to translate? "new cow she is not", sounds like a Yoda sentence :) generally, it's sth like: birthday gift from your sons; it may not be a new cow, but hopefully father will like it. It seems that the guy's dreamy birthday gift was a new cow, but the kids got him a book instead. Funny.
