Seanus: I'd definitely second that, MC. Many Polish girls have expressed an interest in learning Spanish :) English has the musical intonation (I remember my Japanese ex asking me to sing a song from RHCP's By The Way album, ouch) but Spanish is just pure romance.
Spanish from Spain yes, Spanish from some of the South American countries, like Mexico, Guatemala, etc. probably not so much. A friend of mine (born in Mexico but raised in Madrid, Spain, educated in the UK and working as a physician in the US) almost cries each time she hears someone from Mexico speak Spanish. I always thought it was sort of like the British and the American English but she said it's more like a university graduate linguist talking to a high school drop out who's raised in the hood. She calls Mexican Spanish ghetto Spanish. Primarily it's the grammar or lack of it but also the pronounciation. I don't know as I only speak a few phrases in Spanish but I can definitely hear a difference between España Spanish and Mexico Spanish.
Either way, I love Italian, Spanish as a language sounds loud and agressive to me... But I enjoy listening to many languages.
