That's true, also between it's and its. Trzeba pomyśleć troche. I think a Polish girl likes to hear English from time to time. They learn it long enough.

I'd definitely second that, MC. Many Polish girls have expressed an interest in learning Spanish :) English has the musical intonation (I remember my Japanese ex asking me to sing a song from RHCP's By The Way album, ouch) but Spanish is just pure romance.

Spanish from Spain yes, Spanish from some of the South American countries, like Mexico, Guatemala, etc. probably not so much. A friend of mine (born in Mexico but raised in Madrid, Spain, educated in the UK and working as a physician in the US) almost cries each time she hears someone from Mexico speak Spanish. I always thought it was sort of like the British and the American English but she said it's more like a university graduate linguist talking to a high school drop out who's raised in the hood. She calls Mexican Spanish ghetto Spanish. Primarily it's the grammar or lack of it but also the pronounciation. I don't know as I only speak a few phrases in Spanish but I can definitely hear a difference between España Spanish and Mexico Spanish.

Either way, I love Italian, Spanish as a language sounds loud and agressive to me... But I enjoy listening to many languages.

I've heard that too. I have an American friend with a Mexican background. He does his best to speak standard Spanish as he also feels Mexican Spanish to be ghetto.

I used to like the sound of Italian but I can do without it now.

Spanish from Spain yes,

Which Spanish then? People from Andaluzia don´t speak Spanish in the same way as Catalonians or Basque people do.

While I do agree that people in Spain tend to speak better than Latin Americans, I have to stress the role of education in the development of competent linguistic skills. The fact that latin americans tend to have major ortography and grammar issues with their mother tongue is the result of cultural factors, as well as educational.

Now, most people will tell you that Spanish people swear a lot while speaking, which certainly makes the language sound harsh and less beautiful. Moreover, their accent can become annoying.

I think the best Spanish is spoken with no accent at all.

Oh and btw, I think Italian is as ,if not more annoying than Spanish .

C3po - not sure if you speak any Polish at all (I do but at a preteen's level) but I think women (and men) like compliments even if what you say is not entirely correct in that language, sometimes not even close to being correct. ;)

A while back I saw this Japanese airport security agent and found her very attractive; especially her eyes which were simply mesmerizing, I'm not sure why I found her eyes so fascinating but they're light blue/brown and deep as an ocean. Anyways, I'd run into her several times and she always seemed to find an excuse to show us around and was just so very friendly so one day I figured I'd try my Japlish on her and said something like you have beautiful eyes, or so I thought. She giggled as apparently I said her head was beautiful. :) Oh well, she got a kick out of it and each time we get in she smiles at me and looks like she's hoping for more of my botched Japanese.

So translate your English compliments word by word if you want, often it's the effort that counts.

pgtx was commenting on what I've recommended for c3p0 to say if the girl was a chavette type. If someone says piaskownica he might mean your behaviour or words are childish or boorish. That's what she meant by saying "totalna piaskownica" another way to say it is "totalna wiocha" - complete village ; )

( i mean most) i'm not gonna be fooled ok? :)

Yeah right.

My advice is to say it in your own language...it always sounds sweeter when you are not misspronouncing it..

You're welcome. I think men and women are pretty similar in a way, we all want to feel very special and appreciated. So being nice, friendly and showing interest is never wrong.

Disclaimer - I don't really know crap about women or I wouldn't be divorced but that's my view.

he is saying it phonetically, it sounds like jestesz, if you know how to say sz in polish which is like "ssh" in english but it should be "jesteś"

Unfortunately what I see a lot of is people trying to hit on Polish girls because yes, they are very beautiful generally but that's all they see. They know nothing about the vast history of this beautiful land, the influence it has had on the entire world (i cant list all examples not enough room but yeah, without Polish people there wouldn't be oil used to power cars, lubricate machinery, pave roads, there wouldn't be X-ray machines, as "Madame Curie" was POLISH not FRENCH. The 2nd parliament in world was Poland. USA first. First REAL "freedom of religion" which is in most 1st world country's constitution's was implemented first in Poland. Polish people are generally (always a bad apple in every bunch, remember that - do not generalise) hard working, intelligent, know how to have a good time, but what I particularly like about Polish people apart from their intelligence is their natural born ability for art, ranging from music to drawings/paintings, to photography, to cinematography and film directors. Look up Kieslowski. His movies are brilliant. I'm sick of hearing the stereotype that Polish are dumb and uneducated and women are just for sex. Show some respect please, people. If you want to tell a polish girl you like her, don't call her "laska" or anything like that - get to know her inner beauty for that will never fade, external beauty does.

My 2 cents worth.
