I took a visiting relative from Poland around touring and we went to a museum. He later emailed me thanking me, but used the word mimo. Here is the word in context,

Mimo wszystko powiem, że muzeum jest wspaniałe.

Can anyone help me with this word? I don't know what it means.

I guess it also means despite? But in this context, doesn't it mean: I will say that the museum is wonderful after all. Or: After all, I will say that the museum is wonderful? I don't know, but: In spite of I will say that the museum is wonderful - just doesn't make sense to me for some reason?

:S

Not that I know any Polish, of course!

Oh, I'm sorry, I get it already! (Jeez, my Polish *is* rusty!)

xD

In spite of everything I will say that the museum is wonderful, right?

:)

Doh! I need more beer!

yep that's also right and sounds even better ;)
The meaning of context is the same just like in spite of

I would vote for: I will say that the museum is wonderful after all. (If we translate it to English I mean.) Aphrodisiac was right though. Despite of everything would be the literal translation, and probably how the original composer of this e-mail intended to convey his message.

:)

Just babbling! Handy book there, thanks!

I presumed that the OP sentence was a part of a longer message, therefore, the ''despite".

I see no flaws in your reasoning.

:)
