Witamy all, Can someone please give me a brief and accurate translation for the text below. I would really appreciate your help. Thank you Text to be translated: ''Recipient has been informed of full contents of envelope. Missing items will be reported to Poczta Polska and Royal Mail UK.''

Don't rattle cages, an aggresive note like that is just inviting the whole envelope to disappear. If it's that important go wtih a courier or a trusted go between.

What he said. Fedex it or go registered delivery. In the 90s it used to be really bad for overseas post, but in my limited experience a lot has improved since then.

I had the same thought, and after consideration will now alter the note on the envelope. However, loss or theft shouldn't happen deliberately in the first place. And if it does, then criticism is due. I don't mean to cause anyone on here offense, but I was told Polish people are very sensitive over criticism from foreigners. But this isn't about inferiority. If items are confiscated or even consumed, and the remains put back into the packaging, then that kind of behaviour deserves to be held responsible, and those are the blunt facts.

DHL, FEDEX, etc. are all things I use for expensive items. But for paper envelopes containing inexpensive items it would be a joke to have to use that just out of fear. This may not contain valuables, but I still don't expect to have to send it three times before finally gets to the recipient in one piece. Certain standards are still expected even at smaller prices.

I agree (and most Polish people would too). But in the real world that kind of note will be be counter-effective. Going in under the radar by making the envelope as non-descript as possible is the more effective strategy in this case. For anything really expensive or important going with surface mail (Polish or UK) is not advised.

No problems here with UK-Poland post up to around the value of 300PLN or so.

In fact, I've noticed that Warsaw-Poznan post seems to be far worse - several signed for letters have been taking an eternity to turn up, though nothing has actually gone missing. Meanwhile, bog standard surface mail from the UK to Poznan seems to be getting through quickly and without problems.

True, I agree with you. Well actually, Royal Mail did compensate me to a degree, but how can you compensate for lost time and the unnecessary hassle, not to mention the additional cost of re-sending the mail that was undelivered in the first place, right?
Poczta Polska also communicated with me, but it reached a point where they said our central office isn't capable of tracing anything beyond our department, and we don't know which local post office or postman may have lost it. Don't know if that is true or just a diplomatic way of saying ''bad luck but you won't get anywhere''.

Yeah, I understand. And I hope that thing about Polish people wasn' taken offensively. So what would be your opinion on at least stating a list of contents. You know how Royal Mail print a postal label that itself gives a list. What if I wrote that same list in polish on the envelope too? Or again, do you reckon it's still descript enough to arouse curiousity? Lastly, on that note, would they not open ALL mail anyway as standard procedure? Or not? That's what I have so far assumed, which is why I wanted to let them know the contents have already been reported to the recipient. If they don't necessarily oepn all, then I get your point.

It's not that I'm sending something valauble, but it's something I nevertheless want to be sure the recipient will receive in a failry timely manner. Do you know where I'm coming from?

Would appreciate your views.
