Never Forgive! Never Forget!

My grandfather escaped during the occupation and my father grew up around survivors from the camps. So since I was a small child I have heard about the terrible things that happened to my people. I wanted to get the tattoo "Never forgive! Never Forget!". If someone can help me with this It would make my year. Thank you very much. Stephen

I am not saying do not get one, but just be careful about the long term effects. Make sure the place that does the tattooing has been inspected for health reasons. Also, look into the possibilty of getting it removed as well. I do not know what your immediate family is like, but they may or may not like you having a tattoo.
There is also the effect it might have at your place of work. I have heard some workplaces frown on certain types of tattoos. So, take that into consideration as well and good luck with it.

PolishPanda: "Never forgive! Never Forget!" it would be long sentence, too long for a tatoo. Besides that, "never forgive" is not a good idea for a tatoo... maybe you will forgive some day, what then?

Why not just get the word hate tattood on your knuckles...a much simpler job...

Surely it's up to the person getting the tattoo whether they decide to commit to it or not. I'm glad the obvious considerations have been pointed out though, just in case. I think you'd have to use the imperative forms for second person singular, but I'm not sure and my Polish is still fairly limited. "Nigdy wybaczaj! Nigdy zapominaj!" would be my guess, but you should check with the others on here too. As for work: as long as it's not displayed when wearing your normal work-sanctioned dress code you'll be fine.

You do actually realise that you're going to have the words "Never Forgive" scarred into your skin for the rest of your days, not exactly a good message for when you have kids now is it. And I love tattoos, I've got 2 sleeves done but getting something like that is just a bad idea man

Dysydent Miodek: Nigdy wybaczaj! Nigdy zapominaj! It's incorrect. "Nigdy nie wybaczaj! Nigdy nie zapominaj!" I suggest more pacifistic slogan: "Nigdy więcej" (Never again)... but it's also famouse in Poland anti racism campaign slogan.

How about: Jeżeli zapominimy o nich - Boże zapomnij o nas. Or: Jeden facet mnie namówił na ten tatuaż. Bolało jak cholera i mam pomazany cały brzuch. Ale za to jest po Polsku i fajnie wygląda. Usuniecie będzie kosztowało majatek.

I'd forgotten about the double negatives in Polish. I like your alternative too. I'm sure that an anti-fascist slogan is good enough for somebody expressing the same sentiment. It's not as if artistic originality or copyright infringement is an individual's primary concern when getting new ink - albeit nicer to use one's own words. Just out of curiosity, would "Nigdy znowu!" have the same meaning as "Nigdy więcej"?

I am fairly heavily tattooed as is but thank you all for the concern. As far as the rest of the advice "Nigdy więcej" thus far looks to be the closest thing to being what I am trying to accomplish with the tattoo. and that is never again? just to be sure?

I wanted to get 2 phrases though because they are going to be a banner around another tattoo. so I am not sure what else i could get with Never Again. Some brain storming may be in order
