pamięć

Could anyone tell me what kind of a word pamięć is? As far as I know it is a noun but it looks like an odd one. Is it some kind of special noun? It should be male but the dictionary says it is female.

Thanks.

It's a verb as far as I can tell.

Some feminine nouns end in a consonant, noc, część, jesień, wieś, mysz.

Pamięć is a noun, pamiętać is a verb.
