I know what both mean but is there a nice, neat and concise name for them in English? Dictionaries give day-care room, televison room and after-school club. So the świetliczanka would be someone in charge of these. BTW, if a male held that post would he be called a świetliczanin?

I think I heard "świetlicowa/świetlicowy" when I was a kid.. although it might have been incorrect it still sounds ok for me...

Both are correct but I think świetlicowa/świetlicowy are used more often... actually almost always.
