thanks for calling = dzieki za telefon?

hey, how do you say "thanks for calling" or "thanks for the call". can you say "dzieki za telefon"? or does that literally mean thank you for the phone?

dziękuję, że dzwonisz (present tense) or dziękuję, że zadzwoniłeś (past tense but often used in present time) would be better.

it is okay even if a little colloquial, yet very widespread. The second meaning applies too.... but you would know the difference between them from the context, right?

BTW: I would never say "dziękuję, że dzwonisz", the latter however is possible, but in specific circumstances only.

Or 'dziękuję, że zadzwoniłaś' if it's a woman that called.

yeah, i was writing to a friend, so colloquial is fine. i just sometimes forget whether i've translated an english phrase into polish, or whether you really do say that. thanks! :)
