"thanks for the memories" in Polish

Greetings. I am working with a youth group who would like to include the phrase, "thanks for the memories" in Polish on a t-shirt. They suggest, "Dzięki za wspomnienia".

Can anyone help me--is this correct? When I used some online translation software, it says, "dziękują za wspomnienie". We need your guidance to be sure it is correct before they print the shirts.

Grzeslaw and Lenka--thank you both so much. I should have trusted these young ones, but I wanted to check and be sure it was correct before we print the shirts.

Dzięki za wspomnienia is very casual.

This is for T-shirts, I doubt it has to be formal.But you're right- it's important to give full information.I didn't think of that.

Marynka, that was my concern, as well. I know T-shirts contain only brief, casual information, but I was concerned that "dzięki" was too informal.

"Thanks for the memories" is the name of an old American song, and I'm guessing that is what the children were thinking of.

So. . .

Dziękujemy za wspomnienia
or
Dzięki za wspomnienia

either would be acceptable on a T-shirt? Obviously, one translation is a bit longer than the other, so perhaps the more informal will work best on a small area, as long as it is not incorrect.

Dzieki is a casual "Thanks", what you would say to someone you knew, and would probably capture the phrase better.

On a side note, your children listen to terrible, terrible, terrible music. Should fix that :)

Convex, I agree, but this particular song is "an oldie but a goodie". One of my heroes, Bob Hope, used to sing it at the end of his live shows to American servicemen and women around the world.

Oh, oh. Now you make me think--these young teenagers are probably thinking about a current rap song, not this lovely old tune.

I need to call their teacher. . . now!
