How to say in Polish: "forget me not"

just in case you are refering to the plant...

Niezapominajka (something like that).

This is so amazing.
In Ukrainian and Russian it's "nezabudka", and nezapominajka would mean do-not-remember-me (the opposite!). Zapomnit' = remember. Does "zapomnit'" mean "forget" in Polish?

Nezabudka in Russian by meaning is quite close to original question, but most often it is used as a flower name. ;)

I know - I am Ukrainian (and speak Russian). I am just amazed that the meaning is the *opposite*. Nezapominajka sounds like "forget me/don't remember me" instead of "forget me not".

I'm half Russian (maybe with some German and Tatar blood from this side - was unable to confirm), and half Ukrainian (with possible one Greek between my ancestors from this side - was told by grandmother, but have no records as well). Civil war and WWII left litle chances to find something in archives.

Can understand Ukrainian without problems, but don't even try to speak. ;)

That's interesting :)

In Polish:

zapomnieć , zapominać - (to) forget
nie zapominać, nie zapomnij, nie zapominaj - do not forget

niezapominajka (nie-zapominaj-ka) flower's name and means: forget-me-not (do-not-forget)

remember - in Polish: pamiętać, pamiętaj

Exactly.
polish 'zapomnieć' = russian/ukrainian 'zabyć'
rus/ukr 'zapomnieć' = polish 'zapamiętać'
