many thanks can't make sense of it on google
is the language slang cos it doesn't seem to translate logically

The first part doesn't make any sense. The second part is, "today I'm in charge."

svyt isn't Polish. The "opanowana - moze zajrzycie" means something like "under control (or being sorted out) maybe (you all) go and have a look"

seems about right because last time we visited this girl one of the boys in the house became rather rude and told us to get lost
This is only a friendship so he had no need to worry but perhaps two brothers visiting a girl is rude??
Is there a good book that will help us with reading and writing Polish? We can speak a bit but we get
lost with rthe written stuff!

A few - your local bookshop should have something, or if not (the misnamed) 'Polish in Six Weeks' is useful.
