Hi,

I will need some help from this forum from time to time till i can sort my docs... people in my embassy seem to only answer e-mails in polish... lol

Thanks!

Dear Ms. Kamilla,

I spoke with Ms. Patricia and she told me that to get information about the progress of the registration of my PESEL number I should write to you.

The reason for my contact is to be informed if the entry was already given for my PESEL application or if there is some additional documentation needed. If the documentation was already sent in, I would like to know what is the government branch (a USC?), in Poland that is issuing my PESEL, so I can contact them and check the status directly with them.

Sincerely,

This is one way to solve this:
1. Goto google translate http://translate.google.com/
2. Select From language as English, and To language as Polish.
3. Write your english text in the text box
4. Click on the translate (On the right hand side you'll see polish translation)
5. Copy the Polish translation
6. Interchange the languages (From:Polish and To: English)
7. Paste the copied Polish translation in the text box
8. Click Translate - This will help you verify the translation, if the translation is not correct, try to rephrase your english sentence and repeat above steps.

Hope this helps you.

Anyone else spotted the flaw in this otherwise perfect plan?

Jro,

I LOVE Google translate... for translating Polish to English... But Polish is a VERY complex language, not even Google can master it ;-)

It's bad English to start with. . . . .

Translation into correct English

Dear Ms Kamilla

Ms Patricia informed me that I should contact you about the registration of my PESEL number.

I would like to know if my details and the documentation supplied is correct and that PESEL application has been submitted. Do you require additional documentation and information?

What government department can I contact provide me information on the progress of my application

Yours sincerely

I don't think he wants the English version reworking! Just a Polish translation.

Maybe it's just me, but the English of the original looks remarkably like an over-literal translation from the Polish - all those chained abstract nouns ('... get information about the progress of the registration of the ...').

No thinky?

I wondered about that too. The OP lives in Rio - maybe it's from the Portugese?

Droga Pani Kamilo,

Dziękuję i pozdrawiam
