Thanks for the translation. Is Lalki a polish name? name of girl or boy? on the photo there is a girl (around 10 years old) and a dog.

Lalka is definitely a female name. Could be a dog, too, but they're probably not the kind of people that give their dogs two surnames.

"Lalka" could be a name or nickname.
I know one girl whos name is Lala, but it is more commonly used as funny nickname.

It could be a nickname but Lalka is also short for Eulalia.

On the photo the girl should be Maria Weryho-Darowski with her dog. The photo is dated 1947 and Maria was 11 years old.

For dear Januszek (pet form of Janusz) from Lalka W-D as a souvernir? (to remind him of me). This photograph was taken in our camp.

Maria Weryho- Darowski left Poland with her mother Helena. They went to UK. Maybe she was living in a camp in UK?

łagier refers only to a labour camp in Sovet Union. What year did they leave for UK?
