I susprct you aren't trying to learn Polish at all, but instead reading someone's messages. However...

Ive been trying to learn polish writing for about a month and it aint about reading and copying other peoples messages ! Im just trying to get familiar with certain words and phrases etc (especially those to say to a polish woman haha) and anything that helps, whether its written for someone else or not can only be beneficial and trust me i need all the help i can get !

Thanks for the correction - I always mix przy and prze! Then again, I usually say "Jeste¶ przystojny, Kocurku". :-)

przystojny is just adjective as it is (no such word as stojny)
prze- is a prefix meaning more than
przy is a preposition meaning at

If the polish language doesnt use 'v' how can i write violets, or do i just spell it the english way ? Im trying to write, "roses are red, violets are blue, you have amazing eyes and you're beautiful too" Also can someone please translate, "give me just one night and ill make you the happiest woman in the world" ! (or would it be better to say, "give me just one chance" instead of one night") ! Thanx

Violets are 'fiolety' in Polish. But they aren't blue and 'roses are red' poems don't mean so much there.

Cheers mate, you seem really good with the polish language. Im finding it proper confusing though and thats why im trying to learn whole words rather than trying to learn how to put the letters together ! Is this right or wrong and how did you start out, especially writing polish ? Any tips/advice would be much apprieciated.

Writing is my weak pont - I just learnt by listening, speaking and reading. Mosst importantly by speaking with people.

That's the one! I had a song by Ms Villas going through my mind when I wrote it...

Isn't there an old saying, something like "lepiej gówna w polu ni¿ fio³ki w Neapolu" or some such?

Yeh im the opposite, im good with writing, well English anyway, but pronouncing words i dont know is definately my weak point ! I do try and listen to people speaking and i even watch films with Polish subtitles but its all too fast for me so im going to buy a learn Polish book/audio disc to help with the speaking side of things ! Do you know of any good ones i should try ?

ni¼li is an old version of today's word ni¿... not used often nowadays, found in old proverbs and such...

Comfortable. I use it every day, even when outside Poland, and when in Poland, months can go by without speaking much English. If I have to write something complicated though, I have to get a friend to check - not for the spellings but for stylistic issues and certain odmiany.

As with any language it's important to use it every day.
