FT: Gone west: Why eastern Europe is labouring under an abundance of jobs

http://ft.onet.pl/0,5387,gone_west_why_eastern_europe_is_labouring_und er_an_abundance_of_jobs,artykul_ft.html

While unemployment levels in western Europe have stayed at around 8 per cent since 2002, in the east they have slid from 14 per cent to under 9 per cent. In the region’s booming capital cities, almost everybody who wants work has a job. Leszek Wronski, head of the central Europe division of KPMG, the accountant and management consultant, says: “We have a job market controlled by employees.”

But just as EU accession has made it easier for workers to move west, it has made life harder for would-be migrants from further east. Ukrainians, who enjoyed visa-free travel to Poland, now face bureaucratic hurdles. Moldovans have difficulty entering Romania. Employers want an easing of restrictions. They are also recruiting labour further afield by, for example, bringing in workers from Vietnam, China and North Korea on short-term contracts.

I hope that in result of crisise in Western Europe and USA some people will be forced to comeback here ;-)

Tusk started some reforms and he is very pro-business politician so it gives hope.

I don't know if it was good decision to be member of Schengen, visa for Ukrainians it is mistake they work good and are similar to us ... much more than Chniese

the another good sign is stronger zloty, our emigrants earn less. Euro rate have decreased form 4,8 => 3,5 Dolar 4=>2,4 Pound 7=> 4,9

they earn less and less there :-)

What is sure we are not going to ask USA for non-visa program. We are not going to be sory because of our emigrants. This story is over! ;-)

I think we have to create our imigration Policy becuase we have to chose how it should look. Look on our streets. Everyday I met some people form Africa China Arab countries. It is our reallity. I prefere to have situation here like in London than like in Paris (riots).

It is better to treat them equal and stick to our culture.
