About Gdynia
Gdynia, sistered with Seattle in 1993, is part of a conurbation with the spa town of Sopot, the city of Gdansk and suburban communities, which together form a metropolitan area called the Tri-City(Trójmiasto), with a population of over a million people.

you might look at staying elsewhere in the tri city and getting the train/driving to gdynia when needed

major car rentals can be found at gdansk airport

I live in Gdynia all my life, so I can tell about and show most of tourist attractions, pubs, etc. Taxis are safe, and even public transport is (except nights)- also metropolitan train (SKM) is often better then car. Nightlive place is rather Sopot (it never sleeps). I know nothing about hiring a car and very little about hotels.

A friend of mine has a lovely apartment with terrace in the Orlowo district of Gdynia, It's only 5 mins walk to the pier and beach.

Email me from my profile if you want more information.
