The last contact I had was through my mother, Statia Luszcz. My family lived in Mielec. I went with my parents to visit my mother's cousin, Antonina Sypek Kusek, and her husband Franciszak, and daughter Wioletta in 1991. In 1996 my cousin Wioletta married Piotr Kołacz. They had two girls. I do not speak Polish. I was able to get by in Poland only with my mother's speaking Polish, and my little green Polish book. I would love to know where and how my cousins are. Sincerely, Mary D'Amato

I've done little research on www, and found several Luszcz/£uszcz people from Mielec (see facebook). Antonina Sypek attended to school in Rzemień (10km from Mielec) from 1960 - zsckr.rzemien.eu/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layou t=blog&id=68&limitstart=10 (other Sypek and some Kusek surnames over there too). I don't know if this if a family, but I found yet Wioletta Sypek - she was head teacher at primary school in Szlachtowa sp3-szczawnica.iaw.pl/index.html?id=21903&location=f&msg=1&lang_i d=PL

I hope it helps somehow ;)

£USZCZ: another name for szelążnik, a poisonous wild plant with yellow flowers; or from łuskać (to shell, hull), eg łuskać groch = to shell peas;

possible toponmyic tag from Luszczów, £uszczewo, £uszczyn and similar.
