Hello,
I too am also looking for information/records about my family. My babcia and dza dza are from the town Jankowice and my aunt believes that it is in presentday belarus.

My grandfather's name was Stefan Makowski, changed to Makow when he cam to ellis island. my grandmothers name is Elizabeth Makowski ( i am not sure her maiden name) and they have 4 children, John, Stan, Donna, Teresa (Janik, Stash, Donka, Theresa). All i know is that before they came to america they escaped to Gorzno, Poland and i have a few other details and i can ask my grandmother. I would greatly appreciate any help.

My Grandfather listed Jankowce as his birthplace on his USA WWI military enlistment card that I found on ancestry.com

His name was Ignacy Kuczynski on that document yet on a 1930 USA census form, his name is listed as Isaac.

How do I access Jankowce birth records? Thanks for your help.

Scanned copies of the Naliboki Church records - which include other local towns like Jankowicze - are available to view on the facebook page "Polish Nowogrodek Family Ties". The records are in latin but are somehwht easy to follow if you knwo abit of italian/latin ( or you could google translate). The names are 'latinised' versions of the polish names, eg Chrisotphoro = Krzystof etc. The records go back to 1763!

My grandmather is Anna Emilianowicz, she was born in Jankowicze (now Belarus)

We are family! Anna Emilianowicz was second wife of my grandgrandfather Dominik Szydłowski. Anna and Dominik had two children: Małgorzata and my grandfather Rafał Szydłowski. They were packed up and moved to Germany for forced labour in April 1943.

Please contact me on rafal.szydlowski@o2.pl

If anyone has information about Szydłowski or Emilianowicz family from Jankowicze feel free to contact me also.

@Sisterowl
Hi Sisterowl , my husbands name is Adamcewicz . His parents were Jan Adamcewicz born in kamionka and Stanislawa Adamcewicz (née Rola) who was born in Naliboki . They immigrated to Adelaide Australia in the 1940s and lived in Mansfield park Adaelaide. Jan's parents were Michal and Josefa Adamcewicz .They also immigrated to Adelaide and are buried in Cheltenham cemetery . Franek Adamcewicz of Newport Melbourne that you mentioned in a previous post was Jan Adamcewicz's brother .I have almost no information back past the grandparents . I would love to catch up with you and hopefully learn more if you know more . Best wishes

I am searching for any information about my father, Karol Pozniak who was born in 4th November 1899. As a family we were transported to Germany in the autumn of 1943.

My mothers name is Kazimiera born 20th October 1906.

Would love to hear from anyone with any information.
