KULCZYCKI: topo nick from Kulczyce

WALOSZEK: Silesian dialectal version of Walaszek – traceable to first names Walenty and and Walerian or to place-name Walaszczyki.

The spelling is Janek Tadeusz, however he was certainly officially called Jan rather than Janek. Jan Tadeusz translates as John Luke (though the name Thaddeus does exist in English, rarely).

Anyone called Jan Tadeusz would certainly prefer using Janek instead of Jan, since anyone called Jan Tadeusz would potentially be the butt of jokes from other Polish speakers because of the similarity to Poland's most famous work of literature, Pan Tadeusz.

Actually, Turza Slaska is a village next to Wodzislaw Slaski. It's a quite small area. My grandfather used to have a land there...
It's well known for it's church - there are some pilgrimages going there, because it had some super special Maria revelation (like many other churches in Poland lol).

Next time when I call back home, I'll ask my dad if he knows anyone by this surname.

My grandfather was born in Heřmanice, Ostrava. 24 Km/14 miles away from turza slaska.

Ostrava is indeed quite close to Wodzislaw County!

HELLO Peter!
It is an interesting coincidence that Ive found this place.
you have attracted me couse of your first name - Peter (Piotr) Kulczycki - same as my father. My name is Marcin (Machin?) Kulczycki, I Was born in Rybnik! and my grandpa is Wladyslaw Kulczycki - not sure the dates (his grave is in Rybnik).

And this Walaszek... it sounds familiar to my ears...
Well... I wasnt even searching for my family... and the Kulczycki surname is pretty rare... so there is to many coincidences... and I dont believe in coincidences.

I dont know much about my grandgrandpa Kulczycki, only thing that he had three wifes... so maybe there is a connection?

I am working on a project... let's say 'emergynealogy' and you are interesting finding for me!
pls contact me
