Mongolian the Golden Horde - do Poles have Mongolian ancestry?

Poland has had Mongols occupiers for a few decades and in some poles albiet its rare have an epicanthic fold. Some poles do not have the white almosy cream colored skin but darker more central asian but their facial structure is still.pretty typical polish - super round heads, blue eyes, etc. More so though poles have had genes mixed with other European nations - swedes during the middle ages then later lithuanians ukranians and then to a lesser extent german/Austrian and Russian - oftentimes esp with the russians it was t the woman's choice

Russians though tend on the whole to look for "Eurasian" than even the Poles. The latter have that dash of the Oriental, as I mentioned previously, but mostly, a heavy admixture of Germanic.

Compare for instance the faces of Putin and Duda! The contrast speaks for itself:-)

Yes much more so they tend to have have much flatter faces.

Again, Putin's face is clearly smooth and oval shaped, whereas Duda's is much beefier, squarer.

Dude what are you talking about? Care to re-word it? A certain parts of a territory that later became a part of Poland were at certain times part of what is know generally for people with no clear idea about those times - the Mongol empire.

I read it and can't believe it as a person actually living in Poland, all those "dark skinned, thik black haired grandparents" weren't ethnic Polish even though they might come from Poland. We have Jewish and Romani (Gypsy) minorities and most likely it were one of them or mixed with them. Asian genes are very rare, there are some Tatars but very, very few. Russians or East Balts look much more Asian than Polish.

Never seen a Polish with black hair and dark skin, it stands out like crazy. Even ppl from Italy stan out here. Many. Polish ppl have dark hair but when put it against true black hair of foreigners you see how not black it is, only dark ashy brown, or very dark blond (ash), those dark haired ppl were most often blond in childhood, not blond children are rare in Poland and this itself excludes major Asian contributions. Ppl have weid ideas about Poland when not living here...

I think that Germans have much more Mongolian blood than Poles do since German women were raped 'en masse' by Soviet Soldiers at the end of WWII. And those late Soviet invading forces were often composed of Kazachs, Kalmuks, and some other Asian nations of the former USSR, at the end of the war

So were Polish women. What's your point?

Bavarians certainly have.

Check out an older photograph of the director Rainer Werner Fassbinder. A born Munchner, his face looks almost Circassian!

So were Polish women.

Is there any reliable info source which could prove this statement?

The transmigration of peoples across the Steppes of Asia and past the Ural Mts. well into (along with further into) the so-called "Hungarian Basin" near the Carpathian region of Eastern Europe is a proven fact, Vlad, no longer some theory.

You can't even compare those two numbers.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape_during_the_occupation_of_Germany

Soviet Soldiers were instructed not to make local communities hostile to the USRR. There were some incidents where Polish women were assaulted but it wasn't even a comparable number. Most of the rapes took place in Recovered Territories on German population, and unfortunately on Mazurs too which are not Germans, and in East Germany.

Those Soviets were primitive brutes, so I don't envy those women, but the fact is that Soviets "vent off the steam" mostly on German women.

But that's what happens to a country that starts "Total War" and then loose.

How many of them became pregnant to support your "theory" that Germans have much more Mongolian blood than Poles?

Is there any reliable info source which could prove this statement?

Start with Wikipedia and then follow the links from there:

Given the way that the Soviets behaved on Polish territory between 1939-1956, one wonders why he's so keen to downplay the Soviet involvement in Poland. The claim that the Red Army were "instructed not to make local communities hostile to the USSR" is particularly laughable.

But that's what happens to a country that starts "Total War" and then loose.

Oh please...they raped what they got, even newly freed inmates of the concentration camp for women, Ravensbrück!

individual.utoronto.ca/jarekg/Ravensbruck/LastDays.html

...When Soviet forces liberated the subcamp at Neustadt-Glewe, "they raped all the women and girls: Jewish, Hungarian, German-it didn't matter."

That revenge rape myth may for you maybe kind of consoling, but it just isn't true:

....But he admits that he was "shaken to the core" to discover that Russian and Polish women and girls liberated from concentration camps were also violated.

..."That completely undermined the notion that the soldiers were using rape as a form of revenge against the Germans," he said.

'Course it is.

Now I'll grant ya, Budenz in the late 19th century DID go a bit over the top by suggesting/ theorizing that there was a clear link between the Magyars and the Turks.

This was and is pure conjecture:-)

Who cares about the genetic makeup of people? We are all a mix anyway. Here's an interesting source:

Pretty obvious really. Those morons pushing the idea of "pure Poles" clearly have no idea about Polish history, or how some Poles had no real sense of identity as Poles up until WW2 - particularly in the Kresy.

Yes,we are all mongrels to varying degrees, and probably better for that.
But genetics play an important part in history and don't you find it interesting to know your background?
At least as far back as it can be traced?

....I'm still not sure if I should shuck out the money on Ancestry for my DNA test...interesting it would be though...

The Nazis used to say, "Was er glaubt ist einerlei, in der Rasse liegt die Schweinerei!" - Never mind to whom he prays, the rotten mess lies in the race

Only the uninformed and undereducated believe in a race of humans, undefiled by mixing. It's historically impossible, now proven through DNA testing.
For $99 bucks, a person can pay to find out their ethnic breakdown.

don't you find it interesting to know your background

Oh, I've been into genealogy for a very long time, but my genetic makeup (all my ancestors came from Europe) is still not that interesting for me. What does it help if I know that a few lines originated in what is now Poland for example? The region was invaded so often over the centuries that a DNA test has no value.
Miloslaw 19 | 4,664
24 Oct 2018 #179
I'm not sure about the accuracy of those DNA tests.
Your cultural background is probably more important than your DNA anyway.
Lyzko 45 | 9,346
24 Oct 2018 #180
Nor am I completely.

What's the alternative though? Surely a person's ethnic origin can be traced somehow.
