Oczkowicz - Anyone here from Zagorzany or the area? / Kandefer

I am doing some research on my dad's side. I have gotten as far as my great grandparents coming over in 1901-1902 from Zagorzany. Wondering if anyone from the area is familiar with the name Oczkowicz. It has changed a little since then, but that was the spelling when they departed from Bremen Germany to the US over 100 years ago. Thank you.

I'm not from this area, but found several names connected to the place:

Dariusz (diminutive Darek) Oczkowicz appears on the Gorlice Sport and Recreation Centre site, and Zagórzany (one of) are in the Gorlice County.

OCZKOWICZ: This is a patronymic tag derived from the nickname Oczko (little eye). Someone might have been locally called Oczko because he had a large, bulging, strangely shaped or otherwise unusual looking eye; or maybe it was a spying-pying eye that never missed a thing. When he fathered a son, fellow-villagers would have dubbed the offspring Oczkowicz.

Doing research on family from NorthEast Pennsylvania. Have found reference to Zagorzany as residence. Last name is Kandefer. I appreciate any and all help and leads. Thank you.

KANDEFER: a modified version of the German name Kaymedfel, the name of one of the German colonists who settled Iwonicz in SE Polamd in the 15th century. Today Iwonicz Zdrój (springs) is a health spa.

Are there any Catholic Churches in the area that may have records from the early 1800's? Also is there anyone with last name Kandefer / Kaymedfel still living in area? Any contacts you can provide would be appreciated. Thank You.

KANDEFER: Some 670 people in Poland share this surname, around 460 of them living in and around the city of Krosno in Poland's extreme SE corner bordering Slovakia and Ukraine.

Am doing research on my great grandparents who immigrated from Zagorzany Poland in 1906. Last names were Wantuch and Heberek (or at least that is the spelling my family knows from documents we have on file. Any information anyone has would be greatly appreciated.
